I am a librarian and craftswoman living at 10,200 ft in beautiful Leadville, Colorado. I turn out small batches of naturally dyed yarns in my much abused kitchen. I have fallen in love with the versatility of natural dyes.

I inherited a love of making and fibers from my mother, who was an incredibly talented seamstress, my grandmother, and my sister (can you inherit something from a sibling??). Over the course of my life, I have turned that inheritance into making jewelry, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and now dyeing. Like my mother, I also love the feel of beautiful textiles and just the right shade of blue or pink can bring tears to eyes. 

I work only with natural fibers: merino, alpaca, silk, linen; and sometimes a combination of these! I do not work with rayon, bamboo, or superwash fibers. While these are natural fibers, they go through extensive processing that requires a lot of water and is not sustainable. In the case of superwash it is a toxic process.
